The Dressmaker of Khair Khana

When Taliban has seized the control of the city of Kabul, the life in the city changes completely. Economic situation get worse and worse. Now, it is forbidden for women to work, read and even go out alone.

One of the five daughters of Sidiqi family, Kamila has to face all difficulties of the life alone. Despite her young age, he becomes the head of the family torn apart because of the internal feuds caused by the chaotic state of her country. Since her career as a teacher is interrupted, she learns how to sew and becomes a dressmaker in order to make meets end for her family. Her resistance to this pressure is going to make her a hero for the women in her country.

Inspired from a real life story, this novel will show the events taking place in Afghanistan, we are familiar with from Khaled Hosseini’s novels, from the narration of a woman.
